Chapter 16 Shloka 14
असौ मया हतः शत्रुर्हनिष्ये चापरानपि।
ईश्वरोऽहमहं भोगी सिद्धोऽहं बलवान्सुखी।।१४।।
The Lord says “Arjuna! Let Me now tell you more about
how the individual possessing demonic tendencies thinks.”
That enemy has been slain by me; I shall kill these
others also. I am the Lord of all and the enjoyer of
all sense pleasures. I am perfect, mighty and happy too.
Chapter 16 Shloka 14
असौ मया हतः शत्रुर्हनिष्ये चापरानपि।
ईश्वरोऽहमहं भोगी सिद्धोऽहं बलवान्सुखी।।१४।।
The Lord says “Arjuna! Let Me now tell you more about how the individual possessing demonic tendencies thinks.”
That enemy has been slain by me; I shall kill these others also. I am the Lord of all and the enjoyer of all sense pleasures. I am perfect, mighty and happy too.
These demonic souls think:
1. I have defeated and annihilated all my enemies.
2. I have crushed them under my feet.
3. Whosoever comes in the way of my desire fulfilment will be destroyed thus.
4. I shall take the life of whoever does not obey me.
5. I shall utterly obliterate the one who does not listen to what I say.
6. I shall kill the one who endeavours to overtake me.
Kamla, such are the sentiments of even the weaklings of the present day. And those who have some sort of power by God’s grace:
a) utilise it for their own establishment;
b) utilise it for their personal protection;
c) claim as their right that status or pedestal which is given to them through destiny. They then make endeavours to retain that position throughout their lives.
If they are given a certain place in the governance of the land,
a) they consider only those people to be their friends who consent to all that they say;
b) those who oppose anything they say are considered enemies;
c) whoever surrenders at their feet is considered a friend.
The Lord says, such people epitomise evil. They believe:
1. “I am God.
2. I alone can kill everyone.
3. I can destroy whomsoever I do not like.
4. I can cause the downfall of anyone I wish.
5. I am the master of all.
6. I am capable of everything.
7. I am the Lord of all and I am all-powerful.
8. I am worthy of worship by all.
9. Everyone should exist only for my pleasure.
10. The luxuries of the world lie at my feet.
11. All these people are meant only for the satiation of my wants.
12. All these people are meant only to support me.
13. All these people exist only for my happiness.”
– Such traits inhere both, the inconsequential as well as the important people of the present day.
– The present day leaders also embody this attitude.
– The so-called spiritual figures of today also possess these tendencies.
– The policy makers, the wealthy, the impoverished, and at home the parents, the aged, as well as the children – all suffer from a similar trend of thought.
This is the reason why problems are on the increase and sorrows are multiplying.
The Lord says that whatever anyone accomplishes these days becomes a cause for the growth of pride and a motivation to pull the other down. This is a demonic tendency – the so-called ‘wealth’ of demonism.
अध्याय १६
असौ मया हतः शत्रुर्हनिष्ये चापरानपि।
ईश्वरोऽहमहं भोगी सिद्धोऽहं बलवान्सुखी।।१४।।
भगवान कहते हैं, अर्जुन! ले तुझे आगे बताऊँ कि आसुरी सम्पदा पूर्ण लोग कैसे सोचते हैं:
शब्दार्थ :
१. यह शत्रु मेरे द्वारा मारा गया है,
२. दूसरे शत्रुओं को मैं मारूँगा,
३. मैं ईश्वर हूँ,
४. मैं ऐश्वर्य भोगने वाला हूँ,
५. मैं सिद्ध, बलवान तथा सुखी हूँ।
तत्त्व विस्तार :
नन्हूं यह असुर सोचते हैं कि :
क) ‘मैंने आज सब शत्रु मिटा दिये।
ख) मैंने आज सब शत्रु हरा दिये।
ग) मैंने आज सब शत्रु मार दिये।
घ) मैंने आज राहों में सब शत्रु कुचल दिये।
ङ) जो मेरी चाहना की राहों में आयेगा, वह मिटा दिया जायेगा।
च) जो मेरी नहीं मानेगा, मैं उसके प्राण ले लूँगा।
छ) जो मेरी नहीं मानेगा, मैं उसको तबाह कर दूँगा।
ज) जो मुझसे आगे बढ़ना चाहेगा, मैं उसे मार दूँगा।’
कमला! आजकल तो जिसके पास कोई भी बल नहीं, वह भी इतना गुमानी है, पर जिसके पास भगवान की कृपा से कुछ राज्य की शक्ति आ गई, वह तो सम्पूर्ण बल :
1. अपनी ही स्थापना के लिये लगा देते हैं।
2. अपने ही संरक्षण के लिये लगा देते हैं।
3. जो आसन संयोगवश मिल गया, उसे अपना जन्म सिद्ध अधिकार मानते हैं और उसे सदैव के लिये अपनाने के यत्न में अपनी सारी सार्मथ्य लगा देते हैं।
गर राज्य में कोई स्थिति मिल गई तो भी :
क) जो इनकी हाँ में हाँ मिलाये, उसे ही अपना सज्जन मानते हैं।
ख) जो इनकी हाँ में हाँ न मिलाये, उसे ही अपना दुश्मन मानते हैं।
ग) जो इनके चरणों में बिछ जाये, उसे ही अपना मित्र मानते हैं।
भगवान कहते हैं, ये लोग असुरत्व की प्रतिमा होते हैं।
जीवन में ये समझते हैं कि :
1. ‘मैं ही ईश्वर हूँ।
2. मैं ही सबको मार सकता हूँ।
3. मैं जिसे चाहूँ, तबाह कर सकता हूँ।
4. मैं जिसे चाहूँ, मिटा सकता हूँ।
5. मैं जिसे चाहूँ, गिरा सकता हूँ।
6. मैं ही सबका मालिक हूँ।
7. मैं ही सर्व समर्थ हूँ।
8. मैं सबका पति हूँ, मैं सबसे बलवान हूँ।
9. मैं ही सबका पूज्य हूँ।
10. सबको मेरे लिये ही जीना है।
11. पूर्ण जहान के भोग्य पदार्थ मेरे पाँव छूते हैं।
12. पूर्ण जहान के भोग्य पदार्थ मेरे भोग के लिये हैं।
13. पूर्ण लोग मेरी रुचि पूर्ति के लिये हैं।
14. पूर्ण लोग मेरा समर्थन करने के लिये हैं।
15. पूर्ण लोग मुझे सुख देने के लिये हैं।’
– आजकल छोटे और बड़े, सब ऐसी ही वृत्ति को धारण किये हुए हैं।
– आजकल के नेता गण भी ऐसी ही वृत्ति को धारण किये हुए हैं।
– आजकल के साधुगण भी ऐसी ही वृत्ति को धारण किये हुए हैं।
– आजकल के सभापति गण, धनवान तथा निर्धन गण, घर में माँ बाप तथा बच्चे बूढ़े, सभी ऐसी ही वृत्ति को धारण किये हुए हैं।
इस कारण समस्यायें बढ़ रही हैं और दु:ख बढ़ रहे हैं।
भगवान कहते हैं जो गण, जो भी सिद्धि पा जाते हैं, वे गुमान पूर्ण होकर दूसरों को गिराने में लग जाते हैं। यह आसुरी वृत्ति है; यही आसुरी सम्पदा है।
